Teacher of Physical Education (Female)

Full-time | Maternity Cover
Start date: September 2026
Location: Clitheroe, Lancashire
Mainstream Secondary – KS3 & KS4

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic female Teacher of PE to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream secondary school in Clitheroe, Lancashire, from September 2026 to cover a maternity leave.

This is a full-time position, teaching Physical Education across KS3 and KS4, and is suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers. The requirement for a female teacher is due to privacy and supervision needs within the PE department.


The Role

  • Delivering high-quality PE lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Planning engaging, inclusive, and well-structured schemes of work
  • Promoting healthy lifestyles and positive attitudes towards sport and physical activity
  • Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour, safety, and safeguarding

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Is a female PE teacher (genuine occupational requirement)
  • Has the ability to motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities
  • Demonstrates strong classroom and practical behaviour management
  • Is committed to teamwork, professionalism, and pupil wellbeing
