Phonics Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a primary school located in Bridport. The role is to start in September and will be a 12-month contract, due to the school using extra funding provided by the government to focus on improvement in this area.

  • GBP65-GBP70 per day
  • Phonics TA required
  • Bridport

Previous experience working with primary aged children is advantageous, as the successful candidate will be expected to deliver smaller group sessions, as well as general classroom support. These focus sessions of around 4-5 pupils will be utilised to provide additional support for subjects specifics, including Phonics. Therefore, knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and experience of using phonics schemes such a ‘Read Write Inc’ is essential to this role, as the school use this particular scheme. This school was converted to an academy in 2018 and is a medium sized 2-from entry school.
