Teacher of Music

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, talented and inspirational Teacher of Music to join the school's highly successful Performing Arts team. Initially offered on a part-time basis, this role presents an excellent opportunity to become part of a creative, ambitious and supportive department where the arts are valued as an integral part of school life.

The school is seeking to appoint a teacher who is passionate about music education and committed to inspiring young people of all abilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent subject knowledge, high expectations of achievement and behaviour, and the ability to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that foster creativity, confidence and a lifelong appreciation of music. They will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who places students at the heart of their teaching, maintains the highest professional standards and contributes positively to the wider life of the school.

The Performing Arts faculty enjoys an excellent reputation both within the school and across the local community. Students regularly participate in high-quality productions, concerts and performances, with recent whole-school productions including School of Rock and Footloose, both featuring live orchestras and receiving outstanding acclaim. The school also has a strong record of success in Dance Live competitions, providing students with numerous opportunities to develop and showcase their talents beyond the classroom.

Both Music and Drama are thriving subjects with consistently strong GCSE outcomes. The school is committed to ensuring that these subjects are accessible to all students while also enabling the most able to achieve the highest grades. The department benefits from experienced colleagues, including AQA examiners, whose expertise supports the delivery of an ambitious and engaging curriculum.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to teach Music confidently across Key Stage 3, with the ability to teach GCSE Music being desirable. An interest in, or experience of, teaching Drama alongside Music would be advantageous but is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
