Job description

We're working with a friendly and supportive secondary school in Heywood that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Performing Arts Teacher to join their team from January to cover a maternity leave.

You'll be teaching Performing Arts across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their performance skills while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and self-expression in a positive learning environment.

The role:

  • Full-time maternity cover starting in January.
  • Teaching Performing Arts across KS3 and KS4.
  • Planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons.
  • Assessing student progress and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Supporting students in developing confidence and a passion for the performing arts.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the department and school where appropriate.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS or is due to achieve Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Is open to both experienced teachers and ECTs.
  • Has experience teaching Performing Arts within UK secondary schools or through teaching placements.
  • Has strong classroom management skills and a positive, proactive approach.
  • Is passionate about helping students achieve their potential both in and out of the classroom.
