Performing Arts Teacher – Durham Secondary School
Long-Term Supply, MPS/UPS £32,916 – £51,048, ASAP Start
Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Performing Arts Teacher for a long-term supply position at a secondary school in Durham, with an immediate start available. This is a broad creative role encompassing Drama, Dance, and Music across KS3 and KS4 — and the school is looking for a teacher who can deliver confidently across the Performing Arts curriculum and bring genuine enthusiasm for the subject into every lesson.
Performing Arts is a subject that develops confidence, creativity, and communication in young people in ways that extend well beyond the stage. The right candidate will understand that and use it to inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and delivering Performing Arts lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teaching across Drama, Dance, and Music in line with the curriculum
- Developing students' performance, devising, and creative skills
- Assessing progress and supporting students of all abilities and confidence levels
- Contributing to school productions, performances, and wider creative events
- Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities
To be considered:
- QTS or equivalent
- A degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Dance, Music, or a related discipline
- Proven experience teaching Performing Arts or individual creative subjects at secondary level
- Confidence delivering across more than one Performing Arts discipline
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
