PE Teachers – Secondary Schools – Liverpool
Contract: Full-time / Long-term supply and permanent opportunities

We are currently seeking Male and Female Physical Education Teachers to join thriving secondary schools across Liverpool. These positions require confident, engaging practitioners who can deliver high‑quality PE lessons and effectively manage student behaviour in both classroom and changing room environments.
Why Gender-Specific Roles?
Due to supervision and behaviour management duties within single-sex changing room environments, these posts fall under a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) as permitted by the Equality Act 2010. Therefore, applications are welcomed specifically from male candidates for boys' changing areas and female candidates for girls' changing areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons to KS3–KS4 students.
- Supervise and manage behaviour in same-sex locker/changing room areas.
- Support the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professionalism, and classroom management.
- Contribute to extracurricular sports and whole-school activities.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Prior experience teaching within secondary school settings.
- Strong behaviour management skills, including in challenging environments.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated PE department.
Desirable
- Experience leading extracurricular clubs or school sports teams.
- Specialisms in particular sports (e.g., football, netball, athletics, rugby).
- First aid or coaching qualifications.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
