Job Title: PE Teacher (SEMH School)
Location: Bodmin
Salary: £135 - £232 per day
Job Type: Full-time / Temporary
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient PE Teacher to join our supportive team within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to engage in education.
You will deliver high-quality physical education lessons that promote not only physical health, but also confidence, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing. The role requires creativity, patience, and a strong understanding of how to support students with complex behavioural and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs
- Foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Use sport and physical activity as a tool to support emotional regulation and personal development
- Manage challenging behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
- Monitor and report on student progress, both academically and socially
- Contribute to the wider school community and pastoral support systems
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable but not essential)
- Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
- A passion for sport, physical activity, and inclusive education
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
