PE Teacher - SEMH

Job Title: PE Teacher (SEMH School)
Location: Bodmin
Salary: £135 - £232 per day
Job Type: Full-time / Temporary

About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient PE Teacher to join our supportive team within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to engage in education.

You will deliver high-quality physical education lessons that promote not only physical health, but also confidence, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing. The role requires creativity, patience, and a strong understanding of how to support students with complex behavioural and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs
• Foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Use sport and physical activity as a tool to support emotional regulation and personal development
• Manage challenging behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
• Monitor and report on student progress, both academically and socially
• Contribute to the wider school community and pastoral support systems

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable but not essential)
• Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
• A passion for sport, physical activity, and inclusive education
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
