PE Teacher – Secondary School | Yeovil
Full Time | Permanent | Start Date: September
An enthusiastic and motivated PE Teacher is required to join a welcoming and forward‑thinking secondary school in Yeovil. This permanent opportunity is ideal for an experienced teacher or a confident ECT seeking to develop their career within a supportive, student‑focused setting.
The Role
As a PE Teacher, you will inspire students to engage positively with physical education and healthy lifestyles. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high‑quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Fostering teamwork, resilience, fitness, and a positive mindset toward physical activity
- Delivering an inclusive curriculum that encourages participation and builds confidence
- Assessing and tracking pupil progress to support both physical and personal development
- Contributing to the continued development of a dynamic PE curriculum
- Supporting or leading extra‑curricular sports clubs, fixtures, competitions, and enrichment activities

The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will be:
- A qualified PE Teacher with QTS, or an ECT due to qualify
- Confident teaching PE across KS3 and KS4
- An effective communicator with strong subject knowledge

- A collaborative team player with strong relationship‑building skills
- Committed to inclusive practice and student development
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
- Ability to teach PE confidently at KS3 and KS4
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
