PE Teacher – Secondary School – Weymouth

Full-Time | Permanent | Start Date: ASAP

A lively and progressive secondary school in Weymouth is seeking an enthusiastic PE Teacher to join their dedicated and supportive PE department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or an energetic ECT looking to build their career in a student‑focused, forward‑thinking environment.

The Role

As a PE Teacher, you will:
• Deliver engaging and high‑quality PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Promote fitness, teamwork, resilience, and a positive approach to sport
• Teach an inclusive curriculum that encourages participation from all students
• Track and support student progress, helping pupils develop key physical and personal skills
• Contribute to the planning and development of the PE curriculum
• Lead or support extra‑curricular sports clubs, fixtures, and enrichment activities

Ideal Candidate Profile

You will be:
• A qualified PE Teacher with QTS (or an ECT close to completion)
• Confident teaching PE across KS3 and KS4
• An excellent communicator with strong subject knowledge
• A positive role model who inspires students to achieve their best
• A team player who values collaboration and high expectations
• Able to build strong relationships and motivate learners of all abilities

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge within Physical Education
• Ability to teach PE confidently at KS3 & KS4
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
