Chorley & Skelmersdale | Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available
£14.25 - £15.00 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are currently recruiting Pastoral Classroom Support Workers to work within a range of Primary and Secondary SEN schools across Chorley and Skelmersdale.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), learning difficulties, and challenging behaviour. You will play a key role in helping students access education, develop positive relationships, and achieve their full potential.

The Role:

  • Providing pastoral and classroom-based support to pupils with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour strategies
  • Assisting teaching staff with learning activities and interventions
  • Encouraging student engagement, confidence, independence, and wellbeing
  • Working on a 1:1 basis and within small group settings where required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
  • Experience within education, care, support work, youth work, residential care, or similar settings is highly desirable
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to adapt to individual student needs and behaviours
