Part-Time Supply Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – The Vale of Glamorgan

About the Role:

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Supply Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to join our dynamic team, supporting schools across The Vale of Glamorgan. This is a fantastic opportunity to work flexibly, providing essential support to pupils with diverse learning needs, ensuring they thrive in the classroom and beyond.

You will work closely with teachers, helping to create an inclusive learning environment and offering tailored assistance to children who need that extra bit of support. Whether you're working 1:1 with a pupil or assisting a small group, your role will be vital in encouraging independence and boosting confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs (ALN) across different key stages
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans
  • Encourage positive learning behaviours and provide emotional and social support
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to promote inclusive education
  • Help to maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children in a school or care setting
  • A caring, patient, and positive attitude
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability, as you may be working across various schools and year groups
  • A commitment to promoting the well-being and development of all learners

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience in supporting children with additional learning needs is a plus
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
