Job description

Are you a passionate and energetic Physical Education Teacher ready to inspire the next generation? We are seeking a dynamic and committed PE Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Harrow. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to promote physical health, teamwork, and resilience while delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities at Key Stage 5.

About the Role
As a PE Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a broad and engaging curriculum that motivates students of all abilities to participate and achieve. You will plan and deliver well-structured lessons, assess student progress effectively, and contribute to a strong extra-curricular sports programme. The school prides itself on fostering a culture of participation, inclusivity, and excellence in sport and physical wellbeing.

You will be expected to create a positive and disciplined learning environment, set high expectations for behaviour and achievement, and inspire students to develop a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Assess, monitor and track student progress in line with school policies
• Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement and participation
• Contribute to extra-curricular sports clubs, fixtures and school events
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN students
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the PE curriculum
• Support whole-school initiatives around health and wellbeing

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• A degree in Physical Education or a related subject
• Strong subject knowledge across a range of sports and activities
• A commitment to raising achievement and delivering high-quality teaching
• Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build strong relationships
• A passion for sport, fitness, and student development
• The ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
