NURTURE SUPPORT TEACHING ASSISTANT
Location: Caerphilly (CF81)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 2:30pm
Pay: £90 per day via PAYE (weekly pay)
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: 13th April 2026

As a Nurture Support Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with mental health needs, additional learning needs, or challenging behaviour—helping them feel safe, confident, and ready to thrive in their learning journey.

Small class sizes (usually no more than 10 pupils) with a high staff-to-student ratio

Ongoing guidance, mentoring, and training provided

Team Teach training offered during half-term breaks
What the Role Involves
-
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs

Assist teachers and classroom staff with behaviour management strategies

Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and essential life skills
-
Create and maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
-
Offer firm but caring guidance, maintaining clear boundaries with compassion
Make an Impact Every Day
A Nurture TA typically:
-
Works with small groups or individual pupils in a “nurture group” setting
-
Helps children build confidence, self-esteem, and trust
-
Supports pupils with anxiety, attachment issues, trauma, or challenging behaviour
What We’re Looking For
-
Passion for supporting children and young people to achieve their potential
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance
-
Commitment to completing required training (including Team Teach)
Desirable Experience:
-
Mental health support, care work, or residential care
-
Youth work or sports coaching
-
Healthcare or support roles
-
No formal qualifications required – ideal for those new to education
Requirements:
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
-
EWC registration (guidance provided)
-
Two professional references
-
Ability to travel to the Caerphilly area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
