Nursery Teaching Assistant

Location: Newport (NP19 area)
Contract: Full-time
Pay: Weekly pay
Start: ASAP


Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Nursery Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and well-established primary school in the Newport area.

The school has a strong community feel and a dedicated nursery provision, supporting children at the very start of their education journey. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment that values early development, structure and positive relationships.

We are calling for individuals with Nursery Practitioner experience, as well as anyone who is looking to begin or build a career working within Early Years settings.


About the Role

• Support children within a nursery setting (Early Years)
• Help deliver engaging, play-based learning activities
• Support children’s social, emotional and communication development
• Assist with daily routines including play, learning and care
• Work closely with teachers and Early Years staff
• Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment


Who We’re Looking For

• Experience as a Nursery Practitioner, Early Years TA or similar is desirable
• Individuals with a genuine interest in working with young children
• A caring, patient and nurturing approach
• Someone proactive with a strong “get up and go” attitude
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships
• Willingness to learn and develop within an Early Years setting
• No experience required — just the right attitude and commitment


Requirements (we can help you with these):

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• EWC Registration
• Two recent references
