Job description

We are looking for a passionate and caring Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive nursery team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic childcare professional who is committed to providing outstanding care and early years education to children aged 0–5 years.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive.

Location: Burnley
Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Job Type: Full-time 8am – 4pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children's learning and development.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress.
  • Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and welcoming.
  • Support children's emotional, social, and physical development.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.

Requirements

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working within a nursery or childcare setting.
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with children.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable

  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
