Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)
Location: Shaftesbury, Dorset
Contract: Full-time (part-time considered)
Start Date: September 2026 (or earlier by negotiation)
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join our successful and supportive secondary school in the heart of Shaftesbury, Dorset. This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner—whether an experienced teacher or an ECT—to inspire a love of languages and make a real difference to young people’s lives.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Teach French and/or Spanish across Key Stages 3 and 4 (experience at KS5 is desirable but not essential)
- Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence in language learning
- Contribute to the continued development of the MFL curriculum
- Support pupils of all abilities to achieve their full potential
- Play an active role in the wider life of the school
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified teacher (or working towards QTS)
- Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for languages
- Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and high expectations of students
- Is committed to inclusive, student‑centred learning
- Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
