Mental Health Teaching Assistant

We have an exciting new opportunity in a specialist school in Shirehampton that specialises in supporting secondary aged students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH).

The role is supporting students in small groups and a 1:1 basis (you will not be assigned to just one student). This is a full-time role to start in September with training provided during the two inset days before the students start. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 3:30. You will be paid a 6.5 hour day with the hourly rate set at 66:30. If this assignment goes well, you will be offered a contract to start after Christmas.

The school provides support for very challenging secondary aged students. You need to be confident, patient and set clear boundaries. You do not need experience as such but if you haven't dealt with challenging behaviour or SEND before, you must have a relevant degree such as Psychology, Sociology and Criminology.

In return, you will be trained, have full access to our CPD academy and be paid weekly weekly with no umbrella fees.
