Located in the welcoming community of Cheadle, our secondary school is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. We are actively seeking a dedicated Science Graduate Teaching Assistant who can provide essential support to students who may be falling behind academically and those facing diverse learning challenges, including SEN.

Position Overview:

As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to students who need it the most. Working closely with our experienced teaching staff, you will inspire a love for science, boost student confidence, and help them achieve their academic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer one-on-one and small group support to struggling students in science subjects.
  • Provide tailored assistance to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Collaborate with science teachers to design and implement personalized learning plans and support strategies.
  • Adapt teaching materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate insights to teachers and parents.
  • Create an engaging and motivating atmosphere for learning science.
  • Contribute to the preparation and organization of scientific resources.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a science-related field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.).
  • A genuine passion for science and a commitment to helping struggling students succeed in the subject.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in explaining scientific concepts.
  • Patience, empathy, and an encouraging approach to teaching.
  • Strong organizational abilities and a collaborative mindset.
  • Prior experience working with students, particularly in a teaching assistant role, is advantageous but not mandatory.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
