School Maintenance Person - Exeter, Devon 

Location: Exeter, Devon
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Full-time or 3 days per week (Term-time only)
Salary: £21,700 per annum (pro-rata if part-time)

About the Role:
A specialist education provision in Devon, in partnership with Teaching Personnel, is seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Person to join their team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the learning environment remains safe, clean, and functional for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out day-to-day general maintenance and repairs across the site

  • Conduct routine checks on fixtures, fittings, and facilities

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards

  • Liaise with leadership staff and external contractors when needed

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, caretaking, or facilities role is desirable

  • Basic skills in plumbing, painting, and general repairs

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative

  • A proactive, dependable, and flexible attitude

  • Must be available to work term-time only

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel)

Working Pattern:

  • Full-time (Monday to Friday), or

  • Part-time (3 days per week)

  • Term-time only
