Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant / Nursery Practitioner

  • Location: St Helens, WA11
  • Contract: Day‑to‑Day / Flexible Supply
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Pay Rate: £14.25 – £17.66 per hour (dependent on experience)

We are currently recruiting Level 3 qualified Early Years professionals to support a friendly and welcoming Primary School in the WA11 area of St Helens.

This role is ideal for a passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant / Nursery Practitioner who enjoys flexible, day‑to‑day work and making a real difference during the most important stages of a child’s development.

You’ll be working within EYFS classes (Nursery and Reception), supporting children through high‑quality learning, play, and care experiences within a school setting.


The Role

As a Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant / Nursery Practitioner, you will:

  • Provide high‑quality day‑to‑day support within EYFS classes in a primary school
  • Support children aged 3–5 through engaging, play‑based and structured learning
  • Deliver and support activities in line with the EYFS framework
  • Assist with daily routines, transitions, and personal care where required
  • Encourage pupils’ social, emotional, and early academic development
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Work closely with class teachers, EYFS leads, and the wider school team
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Hold a Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification (essential)
  • Have experience working within EYFS, nurseries, or primary schools
  • Are caring, enthusiastic, and confident supporting young children
  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Enjoy flexible, supply‑based work
  • Communicate well and thrive as part of a team
