Level 2 Teaching Assistant – KS2 (Year 3/4)
Location: BB4
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Duration: September 2026 to the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school team, working within KS2, primarily supporting a Year 3/4 class.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting pupils with their learning and enjoys helping children reach their full potential.
The Role
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide effective support across the classroom. You may also be required to work with small groups or individual pupils, delivering targeted interventions and helping children to make progress.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide day-to-day support to pupils within a Year 3/4 classroom.
- Support children with their learning across the KS2 curriculum.
- Lead or support small-group activities and targeted interventions where required.
- Work with individual pupils who require additional support.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children.
- Provide consistent support for pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
- Have the confidence and resilience to manage challenging situations appropriately.
- Support pupils with SEND and adapt approaches to meet individual needs.
- Work effectively alongside teachers and other members of the school team.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement and a supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant must have:
- A recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
- Experience supporting children with their learning.
- Experience working with, or supporting, children with SEND.
- Confidence in supporting children who may present with challenging behaviour.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A calm, patient and consistent approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine commitment to helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
