Learning Support Assistant – Primary SEN Schools
Location: Portsmouth and surrounding areas
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Contract: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work within Primary Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across the Portsmouth area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support younger students with a range of additional needs, helping them to access education and develop key foundational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored and engaging learning activities
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing

Requirements

  • A passion for supporting young children with additional needs
  • Previous experience in education or care settings (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach

Compliance Requirements

  • Applicants must have a Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
