Job description

Are you passionate about supporting young people who face emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges?

We are currently recruiting resilient, compassionate, and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work within Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.

This is a highly rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference in helping students build confidence, emotional regulation, and positive relationships.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Supporting young people with challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner
  • Helping students manage emotions, anxiety, and behavioural difficulties
  • Building trusted relationships and acting as a positive role model
  • Assisting teachers in creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
  • Promoting student wellbeing, engagement, and personal development

We Are Looking For:

  • Patient, resilient, and empathetic individuals
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Experience working with young people with mental health needs, trauma, autism, ADHD, or challenging behaviour. This could be in education, youth work, care or coaching. 
  • A genuine passion for helping vulnerable young people succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
