Learning Support Assistant – Manchester
Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in one of our partner secondary schools in Manchester. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to making education accessible for all students and have a strong understanding of SEN support strategies.
Role Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with a range of SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Assist teachers in adapting lesson materials to ensure all students can access learning.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
-
Support students in developing confidence, independence, and resilience in their learning.
-
Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to implement effective strategies.

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents where required.
Candidate Requirements:
-
Experience working with students with SEN in an educational or care setting (preferred but not essential).

A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with young people.
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with school staff.
-
A background in education, psychology, youth work, or social care is highly desirable.
-
Relevant training in areas such as Team Teach, Makaton, or Autism Awareness is advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
