Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to make a meaningful difference every day? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist provision.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Working within small classes, you will help deliver an ambitious curriculum while providing targeted SEMH support to enable every child to achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers, families, and external professionals to create a nurturing and structured environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils’ learning and development, both academically and emotionally
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children
- Assist in the delivery of tailored interventions and SEMH strategies
- Promote a calm, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for working with children with SEMH needs
- Is patient, resilient, and empathetic
- Can remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
- Works well as part of a team
- Is committed to helping every child succeed
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable but not essential—training and development opportunities will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
