Job description

Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 SEN Support
Location: Keynsham | Primary School Setting
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: As Soon As Possible

We are currently recruiting a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school in Keynsham. This is an excellent opportunity to support a child in accessing education in a way that is meaningful and engaging for them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD throughout the school day.

  • Assist in delivering personalised learning and emotional support.

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to follow the pupil’s support plan.

  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, especially Autism Spectrum Disorder (desirable).

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
