Learning Support Assistant
An opportunity has arisen in a Nelson Primary School for a full-time year 5 Teaching Assistant from 08:30 -15:30, five days a week for the entirety of the academic year. The school are happy to consdier oth level 2 and level 3 qualified candidates with recent experience supportng children within KS2. The School is currently judged as Good by OFSTED with the majority of pupils coming from socially deprived backgrounds. This school is larger than average with a mixed catchment of children; the children are mainly white British, with a small percentage of Asian Heritage & Eastern European pupils. The school are looking for an individual who is energetic, pro-active, and keen to commit to the school on a longer-term basis. You will be expected to provide general support and work collaboratively with other Learning Support Assistants, class teachers, and the SENDCO. Class sizes vary between 26 - 30 pupils and having effective Learning Support Assistants within school is crucial to supporting individual pupils effectively. As a Learning Support Assistant in school, you will be expected to create positive relationships with the pupils and encourage positive choices and behaviour. The role available is on a long-term basis with a view to continue onto a school contract. Members of the Senior Leadership Team would like to meet shortlisted candidatesw.c 21st February 2022.
