Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Gateshead from September until October, with the opportunity for the role to become longer-term for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive TA who is passionate about supporting children's learning and is confident working independently within a Year 4 (KS2) classroom.

The Role

You will be supporting a Year 4 class, working closely with the class teacher to help pupils achieve their full potential. A key part of the role will involve planning and leading small intervention groups in both Maths and English, so previous experience delivering targeted support is essential.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
  • Is confident supporting pupils within Key Stage 2.
  • Can use their own initiative and work independently when required.
  • Has experience leading small group interventions in Maths and English.
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to making a positive impact.
