A welcoming one-form entry primary school in Central Preston is seeking a committed Year 3 Teacher to join their established team from 2nd November 2026 on a maternity cover contract through to August 2027.
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their practice within a nurturing and collaborative school community.
The Role
You will take responsibility for a Year 3 class of 27 pupils, delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that support all children to achieve their full potential.
The school benefits from a strong support structure, including:
- A full-time Teaching Assistant providing general classroom support.
- A full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant supporting a pupil with an EHCP.
- Access to established schemes of work.
- Medium-term planning already provided, helping to reduce workload and support consistency across the curriculum.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has experience teaching within a primary school setting, or is an enthusiastic ECT ready to begin the next stage of their career.
- Has a good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
- Is committed to delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Has high expectations for behaviour, achievement and presentation.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
- Is organised, proactive and willing to contribute to wider school life.
- Shares the school's commitment to inclusion, equity and pupil wellbeing.

- Pay in line with Agency Workers Regulations (AWR), with the successful candidate moving onto the equivalent teacher pay scale from Week 12 of the booking.
