Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant (TA) - Northumberland

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in the classroom? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Northumberland, working with a Key Stage 1 (KS1) class.

Position Details:

  • Role: Teaching Assistant (TA)

  • Location: Northumberland

  • Days: 3 days per week (Flexible on days)

  • Duration: Start ASAP until end of the Academic Year

  • Pay Rate: £90 - £100 per day, paid weekly

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general support within a KS1 classroom

  • Assist in delivering engaging and effective learning activities

  • Offer targeted Phonics interventions to support pupil progress

  • Work closely with the class teacher to create a positive learning environment

  • Encourage and support the development of pupils' confidence and skills

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school or with children is desirable

  • Understanding of Phonics teaching strategies is beneficial

  • A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
