An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Toxteth (L8) as a full-time Year 1 Teacher. The role is due to commence in October 2026 and will continue for the remainder of the academic year.

The school, conveniently located in the heart of Toxteth, has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and is well regarded for its strong leadership team, supportive Governing Body, and clear commitment to pupil achievement and wellbeing.

As this position is a long-term maternity cover, the Headteacher has emphasised the importance of previous Key Stage 1 teaching experience. Whether you are at the beginning of your teaching career or bring a wealth of classroom experience, a sound understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and expectations will be highly beneficial.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1
  • A creative and engaging approach to teaching and learning
  • Excellent organisational and classroom management skills
  • A strong commitment to supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development
  • The ability to contribute positively to the wider school community

ECTs will benefit from comprehensive support and mentoring from the school's experienced KS1 Lead, providing an excellent environment in which to develop professionally and build confidence in the classroom.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners while becoming part of a supportive, dedicated and vibrant school community.
