KS1 Class Teacher Job – Blackburn

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Blackburn is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Class Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis from October half term until the end of the academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to take responsibility for a Key Stage 1 class, delivering high-quality lessons and helping pupils achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are committed to providing engaging and inspiring learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
  • Assess, monitor and track pupil progress effectively.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to support pupil outcomes.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and attendance.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 or a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
