Job Title: KS1 Class Teacher
Location: Blackburn
Length of Role: 12 months (Maternity Leave Cover)

Setting: Mainstream Primary School

A well‑regarded mainstream primary school in Blackburn is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Class Teacher to join their team on a 12‑month maternity cover contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to make a meaningful impact during a full academic year while working within a supportive and well‑structured school environment.

The successful KS1 Teacher will take full responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons that support pupils’ academic and personal development. You will work closely with experienced staff to ensure continuity of learning and high standards across the classroom.

The Role Includes:

  • Full classroom teaching responsibilities within KS1
  • Planning and delivering creative, pupil‑centred lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has recent experience teaching within KS1
  • Demonstrates strong behaviour management and classroom organisation
  • Has a clear understanding of early learning and development
  • Is committed, reliable, and passionate about primary education

This role is paid to Main Pay Scale and offers the chance to gain valuable experience in a welcoming Blackburn primary school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
