Job Title: KS1 Class Teacher

Location: Blackburn

Length of Role: Summer term, with strong potential to continue into the 2026/27 academic year

A welcoming and community‑focused primary school in Blackburn is seeking an enthusiastic KS1 Class Teacher to join their team for the summer term. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about early learning, committed to high‑quality classroom practice and eager to contribute to a supportive school environment.

You will take responsibility for a well‑established KS1 class, delivering engaging lessons that support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development. The school is known for its strong leadership, collaborative staff culture and commitment to providing a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, high‑quality lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum

  • Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs

  • Create a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment

  • Work closely with colleagues, support staff and parents to ensure strong outcomes

  • Contribute to wider school life and uphold the school’s values

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum

  • A reflective, proactive and child‑centred approach

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
