Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated KS2 Reading Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established school that is committed to raising standards in literacy and fostering a love of reading across Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging reading interventions, supporting whole-class reading provision, and helping pupils develop strong comprehension and literacy skills.

The Role

  • Deliver high-quality reading lessons and interventions across KS2.
  • Support pupils in developing fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and a lifelong love of reading.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and school leaders to improve reading outcomes.
  • Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Contribute to the school's wider literacy initiatives and reading culture.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of reading pedagogy and literacy development.
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for all learners.
  • Possesses excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
