Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant Vacancy
Primary School in WA5 – February 2026 Start
Teaching Personnel are pleased to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the WA5 area to recruit a confident and committed Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant for a February 2026 start. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering general classroom support alongside targeted one-to-one support for pupils with SEND.
The Role:
- Provide day-to-day classroom support within a Key Stage 1 setting, working closely with the class teacher.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND, ensuring they can access learning effectively.
- Support early learning areas including phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy.
- Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs, following SEND plans and teacher guidance.
- Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and engagement within the classroom.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development.
- Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and daily routines.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds a DBS certificate on the Update Service, or is willing to apply for one.
- Has experience working with children in a primary school or similar educational environment.
- Is confident providing one-to-one support for pupils with SEND.
- Demonstrates a calm, patient, and nurturing approach to learning.
- Works well as part of a team while also using initiative when required.
- Is reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting pupil progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
