KS1 Teacher – September 2026 – Hindley, Wigan
Location: Hindley, Wigan
Role: KS1 Teacher
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
A friendly and inclusive primary school in the Hindley area of Wigan is seeking a dedicated KS1 Teacher to join their team from September 2026.
The school is part of a local primary academy trust and has a strong focus on creating a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to become confident, independent learners.
The successful teacher will work as part of a collaborative team, planning and delivering engaging lessons that support children's academic and personal development.
The school is well positioned for candidates travelling from Hindley, Wigan, Ince, Platt Bridge, Leigh and Atherton, with good road and rail links nearby.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold QTS
- Have KS1 teaching experience or a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum
- Be confident teaching phonics and early reading
- Have high expectations for pupil progress
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment
- Have strong behaviour management skills
This role would suit an experienced KS1 Teacher or an ECT looking to begin their career within a supportive primary school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
