Intervention Support Teaching Assistant - Primary School in Pilling

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Intervention Support Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Pilling. This rewarding role will involve delivering targeted interventions to pupils who require additional academic support, helping them build confidence and make excellent progress in their learning.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored one-to-one and small group interventions across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver planned intervention sessions in Reading, Phonics, Writing and Mathematics.
• Provide one-to-one support for pupils requiring additional assistance.
• Support small groups of children to help close learning gaps and improve attainment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to monitor and track pupil progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Assist within the classroom when intervention sessions are not taking place.
• Help create a nurturing, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

• GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, tutoring, coaching or youth work setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification.
• Relevant degree in Education, Child Development or a related field.
• Experience delivering intervention programmes within a primary school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD or Speech & Language needs.
• Phonics knowledge, particularly experience with Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle programmes.
• Paediatric First Aid certification.
