About the Role
Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable humanities teacher to work in secondary schools across Buxton and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs/NQTs to gain valuable classroom experience, develop their teaching practice, and make a real impact on students’ learning.
As a humanities teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought‑provoking lessons across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies to KS3 and KS4 students, fostering curiosity about the world and helping learners develop critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver high‑quality Humanities lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Inspire students to explore key historical, geographical, and cultural concepts and understand their significance.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support the school’s ethos and contribute to student progress and achievement.
Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge across Humanities disciplines.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Passion for inspiring young people to learn and succeed as a humanities teacher.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
