Job description

 

A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join their Humanities department on a full-time basis from April 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced History specialist or an ECT looking to develop their practice within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring pupils to develop a strong understanding of historical concepts, critical thinking skills, and a curiosity about the past.

The Role:

  • Teaching History across KS3 and KS4

  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons

  • Assessing, tracking and supporting pupil progress

  • Contributing to a positive and collaborative Humanities department

  • Upholding high standards of behaviour, achievement and inclusion

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards it

  • Have strong subject knowledge in History

  • Be passionate about teaching and motivating young people

  • Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
