Job description

History Teacher – Mainstream Secondary School, Salisbury

Start Date: April 2026

A thriving mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is seeking a committed History Teacher to join their humanities team from April 2026.

Key responsibilities:

  • Teaching History across KS3 and KS4

  • Delivering lessons that promote critical thinking and historical enquiry

  • Supporting curriculum planning and enrichment opportunities

  • Assessing student work and providing meaningful feedback

  • Encouraging high standards of written work and discussion

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified History Teacher or ECT

  • Have experience teaching GCSE History

  • Be passionate about their subject and student outcomes

  • Work collaboratively within the Humanities department

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
