Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a full-time supply basis for the Autumn Term at a small specialist school in Houghton-le-Spring (DH4).

Role Details

  • Position: HLTA
  • Location: Houghton-le-Spring (DH4)
  • Duration: Full Autumn Term
  • Hours:
    • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
    • Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
  • Start Date: September

 

The role will involve working within a class of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Although the pupils are secondary age (12–13 years old), they are working at an EYFS and Key Stage 1 level, making previous experience within primary or early years settings highly beneficial.

 

 The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Hold HLTA status or have equivalent experience.
  • Have experience working with pupils with autism and additional needs.
  • Be confident delivering lessons and leading small groups.
  • Be patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships.
  • Have experience within EYFS and/or KS1 settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
