Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – September Start
Full-Time | Term Time Only | £110 - £130 per day *inc. 43p per mile and expenses

Key Information: 

Pay: £110 - £130 per day *inc. 43p per mile and expenses

Location: Have to be based in Central Hertfordshire and able to transport students to and from school, with access to reliable transport.

Requirements: 

  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence 
  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certficate 
  • Holds HLTA status, or equivalent experience preferred

We are working with a welcoming and supportive school looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September.

The Role

As a HLTA, you'll play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the provision. You'll confidently support the students (both emotionally and academically), provide targeted interventions, and work closely with tutoring staff to help young people thrive both academically and personally.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support pupils both in the classroom and through small group or 1:1 interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour and create an engaging learning environment.
  • Work closely with tutors and mentors to monitor pupil progress.
  • Adapt learning to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • Help create an inclusive environment where every child feels supported to succeed.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has previous experience working within a school setting.
  • Holds HLTA status or has significant classroom experience.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Is patient, proactive and passionate about supporting young people.
  • Can quickly build positive relationships with both pupils and colleagues.
