Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Job description
Are you a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking to make a real difference in children’s lives? We are currently recruiting for a rewarding opportunity within a specialist SEN school in Patchway, supporting pupils from early years through to sixth form.
The school caters primarily for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and provides a supportive, nurturing environment where every learner is encouraged to reach their full potential.
The Role:
- Supporting teaching and learning across a range of age groups (infant to sixth form)
- Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions
- Assisting with lesson planning and adapting resources to meet individual needs
- Promoting a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold HLTA status or have relevant experience in a similar role
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly autism (desirable but not essential)
- Be patient, empathetic and proactive in their approach
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
- Show a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
