Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with additional needs, helping to re-engage them with their education in a structured and supportive environment.

The Role:

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEN and behavioural needs
  • Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis to support learning and development
  • Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
  • Support students in developing confidence, independence, and engagement

Requirements:

  • HLTA status or a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Previous experience working in a PRU, SEN, or alternative provision setting
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A calm, resilient, and proactive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
