Head of History – Full Time (Summer Term)
Location: Cambridge
Start Date: April 2026
Contract: Full time for the Summer Term, with opportunity for permanent role if suitable

Teaching Personnel are supporting a successful secondary school in the Cambridge area to appoint a committed Head of History for the Summer Term. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced History Teacher seeking to step into a leadership role, or for a current Head of History looking for a fresh challenge within a supportive setting. For the right candidate, the post carries a strong possibility of progressing into a permanent position.

The Role
As Head of History, you will lead the History department across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, oversee curriculum planning and assessment, mentor colleagues within the humanities faculty, and deliver consistently strong teaching. The school are looking for a History Teacher who can  support in raising standards, shaping the vision for the department, and contributing to whole‑school improvement.

• A qualified History Teacher with QTS and strong subject knowledge
• Experience teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Either existing leadership experience or clear readiness for a Head of History position
• High expectations for behaviour, engagement and inclusive practice
• A motivated teacher who can support the long‑term development of the humanities curriculum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
