Technology Graduate – Future Teachers Programme (Secondary School, Waterlooville)

Teaching Personnel are seeking Technology graduates who are eager to begin a career in education. Our Future Teachers Programme is designed to support your transition from university into teaching, providing valuable, hands-on classroom experience before undertaking formal teacher training.

The Role

You will work as a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school in Waterlooville, primarily supporting Design and Technology lessons. The role involves supervising classes during short-term teacher absences, delivering pre-set work, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting students as they complete their tasks. With no planning or marking required, this position is focused on building your classroom confidence while providing valuable, hands-on insight into a teaching career.  This role will be starting in September 2026.

Whilst in placement you will:

  • Reflect on your progress through a professional learning journal
  • Observe experienced teachers, particularly within Technology and STEM subjects

  • Gain insight into school policies, safeguarding, and pastoral care
  • Explore how your degree knowledge applies to the curriculum
  • Develop an understanding of different teaching methods and learning styles

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Technology, Engineering, Computing, or a related subject
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education
  • Confidence, resilience, and strong communication skills
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude
  • GCSEs in English and Maths

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
