Teaching Personnel are working with several outstanding SEMH schools, PRUs and APs across East Manchester to welcome motivated, resilient graduate teachers ready to support pupils who need consistent emotional and behavioural support to thrive.

What You’ll Do

You’ll support children aged 5–16 with SEMH needs, trauma backgrounds, attachment needs and behavioural challenges.

Direct Pupil Support

  • Build trusting relationships with pupils who struggle with regulation
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group sessions to re‑engage learners
  • Use trauma‑informed, restorative and de‑escalation strategies
  • Support transitions, routines and key social situations

In‑Class Support

  • Collaborate with teachers, behaviour mentors and pastoral teams
  • Adapt tasks and lesson content to individual needs
  • Implement behaviour plans and regulation strategies
  • Help maintain a structured, calm, supportive learning environment

Experience Across Specialist Provisions

  • SEMH specialist schools
  • Pupil Referral Units (PRUs)
  • Behaviour & inclusion hubs within mainstream schools
  • Short‑term and long‑term placements depending on your availability

Who We’re Looking For

  • A soon‑to‑be graduate
  • Studying Education, Psychology, Youth Work, Social Sciences, Criminology, Sport, or a related field
  • Passionate about supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Patient, resilient and calm in challenging situations
  • Keen to learn specialist SEMH and trauma‑informed strategies
  • Available Monday–Friday (8:30–3:30)
  • Willing to apply for (or already hold) an Enhanced DBS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
