A school in Stockport is looking to appoint a Graduate Sports Coach to join the team in September 2021. Requirements for this position are as follows:

  • A Sport related degree.
  • Sports Coaching experience (minimum of 2 years)
  • A minimum of 1 Sports Coaching qualification (e.g Level 2 in Coaching Cricket)
  • Ambitions of becoming a PE Teacher in the future.

As a Graduate Sports Coach, this role will involve supporting students within PE lessons as well as running extra sessions at both lunchtimes and after school. The school will also require support with regards to Cover Supervision. The applicant will be required to cover lessons when staff are absent, thus obtaining invaluable experience when it comes to managing large groups of children.

The school will be able to provide the applicant with full training, as well as offering support and  guidance when it comes to developing the applicants teaching pedagogy. The school has a history of supporting graduates who are looking to become teachers in the future. Benefiting from a highly supportive PE department, the school has outstanding facilities.

Other highlights of this role include:

  • Delivering lessons across numerous sports including Football, Rugby, Cricket, Tennis, Table Tennis and Athletics.
  • Working as part of the wider PE department, being able to work effectively as part of a team is essential.
  • Implementing strategies to improve behaviour standards, as well as taking into account the individual needs of students.
  • Running extra curricular clubs across multiple sports, as well as helping organise interhouse events as well as key school events such as Sports Day.
  • Liaising and performing administrative tasks for the PE department, including confirming fixtures against other schools.
