 support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech & Language needs, SEMH, anxiety and learning difficulties. As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll gain hands‑on, real‑world experience that no textbook can offer.

Your Role in School

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEN
  • Support learning, engagement and emotional regulation in and out of the classroom
  • Assist teachers with individual education plans (IEPs/EHCPs)
  • Use positive reinforcement and inclusive strategies to build confidence
  • Support pupils during less structured times (breaks, transitions, interventions)
  • Observe, record and feedback on pupil progress and behaviour
  • Be a consistent, positive and motivating presence in the school day
